Happy 4th!!

Once again I am up at 3 a.m. not able to find that sweet slumber, so I thought I would wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!!

Joe, my father-in-law and myself went to a Birmingham Barons baseball game earlier this evening and had a blast!  It's kind of hard to find stuff to do with Joe's dad, but sports is always a good choice!  The Barons won so that made the night even better.  The fireworks after the game were awesome!

Not sure how much ya'll know about B'ham but we have a big guy here called The Vulcan.  He is the god of steel because apparently here you can find all of the substances to make steel natuarally or something like that.  Anyway, there is a huge monument and he is The Vulcan - see below.

The point of the history lesson is that every 4th of July there is a huge fireworks show called Thunder on the Mountain (he is built on Red Mountain - history lesson for another day).  So we are planning on getting a good spot early and watching the fireworks.  For some reason this year I am pretty excited to see the fireworks.

Ok, I am getting tired now.  I am going to leave you with some pictures of me and my love from the Barons game.
