Just a little help from your friends

I have a confession.  I am a support group drop out.  I went to the first couple of meetings after my surgery and never went back.  I know that is bad.  I don't know, I guess I felt that I didn't need to go.  I went today though.  I went because Mary was going to be there and I want to support her on her way to having surgery.  But while there I learned something...shocking I know.  I learned that it is nice to be around people who have been or are going through the same thing you are.  It's very comforting to know that these people know what it's like.  Don't get me wrong, this blog and you guys are awesome and so encouraging, but when you are in a room with these people and can hear them talk it's very comforting.  This one lady really hit home with me, she even made me cry.  I can relate to her because we are the same age and kind of going through the same issue right now.  We are both kind of at a weight loss plateau.  Just hearing her get up and talk made me feel like I am ok and not some loser who has to give up.

The big news is that I got to meet Mary @ Band Me.....I'm Ready!  I also met her husband.  They are both so nice and it was so great to meet her in person.  She is so close to having her surgery, I am so happy for her!!
