So Wrong but Tasted SO Good!

I think I made the best biscuits and gravy I have ever made tonight for dinner.  We had breakfast for dinner and my gravy is not the healthiest stuff in the world, but it was SO good.  I only ate 1/2 of what was on my plate, so I am happy about that.  I am not sure if I have mentioned this before, but eggs gross me out.  Raw eggs, cooked eggs, any type of egg grosses me out.  When I was at the Dr. last week they told me I needed to start eating more eggs as they are a good source of protein.  I know this, but ewww.  My husband requested scrambled eggs tonight so I cooked them.  Ugh, it makes me sick thinking about it.  I tried a few bites, but couldn't handle it.  I will find an alternate source of protein thank you very much!!

  4. My name is Gilly, and I'm an egg hater. I want to love them. I wish I could. I cook them for my family. But if I take one bite, I immediately feel like I'm gonna puke. Not PB puke...real puke. Stick with chicken for your protein. They're just mature eggs.

  6. I like them if they are scrambles or boiled but my band Hates them. I can take maybe a bite or two but thats it....besides who needs eggs when there is seafood, steel cut oats, nuts, cheese..all kinds of protein rich sources that you can eat instead.

  8. You can eat biscuits? I'm jealous! I was craving Red Lobster cheese biscuits the other day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE homemade biscuits and gravy. My grammy taught me how to make it and oh, YUMMY! Haven't had it in ages though.
I don't hate eggs, but I don't like them either. They have to be cooked perfectly (runny=puke) and seasoned to death before I'll touch one. My band does not like them at all. I may be able to eat 1 at dinner time, but I never do because there are so many other good things to eat. I like Gilly's idea - Chicken=mature eggs. LOL!

  9. I made biscuits last night too. No gravy though. I have always thought homemade biscuits make any meal feel more "homey", if that makes any sense.

I love eggs. Since you don't, consider a difference source of protein. There are many out there!

  10. Back when I was a kid, we used to make shakes when we didn't have any ice cream. We'd use ice, powdered non-fat milk, real milk (2% I think), banana, some chocolate syrup if we had it, and an egg. I know, it sounds really weird, but, you actaully cannot taste the egg. And as long as it is fresh, you don't have to worry about it being raw.

Something else to consider. Do you like meringue? You can take the egg whites, add a little bit of splenda and vanilla, and beat them up until they create stiff peaks. Eat that raw or bake it. I know, sounds gross, but I love raw meringue! Probably the reason I weighed almost 300 pounds pre-band. But, since you are making with with splenda, no sugar equals no extra calories but all the protein.
