Just Pondering

Does anyone ever look at someone without the band eat and think I don't miss eating like that at all?  I know a really random question/thought, but it happened to me this morning.  I was eating breakfast, pancakes, and cut them into tiny pieces, eating very slowly.   The person who was at the table with me started eating their pancakes and I just kind of watched in amazement.  They were cutting their pancakes into normal size pieces, but to me they were huge, like how can someone eat that big of a bite?  Again, I want to say that they were not big bites to a person without a band, but to me they were huge!  I guess this means my crazy  mind has finally caught up with my body about portion sizes and bite sizes.  I think at first I had this twinge of jealousy that I couldn't eat like that, but then I thought, I DON'T WANT to eat that way.  I am perfectly happy with my T tiny bites and taking 30 minutes to eat one pancake.

  1. As someone without a band I can tell you the opposite is def true...I watch my BFF eat teeny bites and get full fast and "I" want to do that too.....LOL....

  2. I feel the same way. I was eating my 1 cup of chicken parmesan noodles and watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It took me 45 minutes to eat in small tiny bites and chewing multiple times, taking 5 minutes breaks and the guy on TV was biting huge bites into all sorts of decadent food. All of a sudden I realized I wouldn't be able to wolf down food or take those really big bites again. Kind of mind altering but a good thing. That was why I got fat. Eating so much. Have a nice weekend.

  3. I go back and forth. occasionally (usually dessert is involved) I wish that I had more room in my stomach so I could keep eating.

On the other hand I saw a guy at Costco a couple of months ago eat a hotdog in 4 gigantic bites...it was obscene and just unnecessary. He was also suffering from a weight problem and probably took 3 chews before he swallowed each bite down. I am sure his stomach didn't even know he had a meal and he was probably hungry again in half and hour. I remember once upon a time eating my hotdog really quickly and then hoovering up half of my daughters big old piece of pizza-I don't miss any of that.

  5. We eat out at least once a weekend and I SO watch people. I get quiet and stop talking and just stare at people eating. It's amazing.

  6. I don't miss eating like that, but I do watch others eat and am amazed at the big bites and quick eating. I actually really like taking a long time to eat a meal. I enjoy the food more and find it more satisfying.
